CLAREMONT, Western Australia – A unique window dressing display caught my eye, mannequins without faces, their heads crowned with fluffy cream wigs, their body dressed in fuscia and red bold prints attracted customers like bees to honey. When my friend and I turned round the corner, the sign Empire Rose welcomed us.

Empire Rose is  a treasure trove filled with large soft feathers, fencing gear, antique books, jewellery decorated pieces to showcase the beautiful clothing designs crafted by Kathryn Cizeika– an iconic Australian designer who has imprinted her style for the modern women, ladies who adore the retro era, women who love sweats and comfortable trackpants. Quality uncompromised with every stitch, Kath leaves her blueprint for us to wear with confidence and love.

Her flagship store in Claremont recently launched tells Kath’s story of her passion and accomplished reputation earned over 25 years in the fashion industry. She offers personalised service and celebrate every individual that walks through her establishment.

Kath’s nature is to revere every woman that she meets and makes her customer feel comfortable in her loud quiet space. She draws us in with her warmth and knowledge of her world of fashion. Every piece of clothing presented, the knowing eye can see the well-sewn garment fabricated is Made in Australia. Kath speaks of each garment with pride, there is a story to tell with each piece and she sources the best quality materials to work with – heavy weight cotton, silk, wool, velvet, denim. The touch and feel of these garments when worn, changes the psyche of the individual to be braver and be more self-assured.

The incredible difference is the specialised service and care that Empire Rose offers from Kath and her team.  If there is a garment that is out of stock, Kath will be able to sew one your size within a week. She says that she loves what she is doing. “You have to love it as there are really great days and some really crazy days too. I love it. I love the fashion industry, the business and I have been here for 25 years”
